TORONTO — Ontario government employees are expected to return to the office five days per week starting today, despite objections from public sector unions.

CORNWALL, ONT. — Police say two people are dead and another has been seriously injured after a shooting in Cornwall, Ont. Police say officers were called to a shooting on Saturday in the border city southeast of Ottawa.

TORONTO — Toronto police say one man is dead after shots were fired on a bus near one of the city's busiest shopping malls. Officers were called late Sunday to the Yorkdale GO bus terminal, adjacent to the Yorkdale Shopping Mall in North York.

TOWNSHIP OF CRAMAHE — Provincial police say a pedestrian has been killed on the side of Highway 401 in central Ontario. OPP say officers were called to a collision involving two vehicles near Cochrane Road in the Township of Cramahe late Saturday.

BECKWITH TOWNSHIP — Provincial police in eastern Ontario say a 50-year-old man is dead after a snowmobiling accident.

BARRIE — Police in Barrie, Ont., said they would have a "significant" presence Friday and Saturday in the area of a home where a child was found dead on New Year’s Eve.

TORONTO — The Toronto Zoo says a 13-year-old giraffe has died after getting caught in an opening door to his behind-the-scenes habitat.

Toronto police say a dog died and pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in the city’s west end. Police say the incident happened in the area of Lakeshore Boulevard and Remembrance Drive Friday shortly before 2:20 p.m.

MARKHAM — Police in York Region say a child was critically injured in a residential fire in Markham, Ont. They say first responders rushed to the scene in the area of 16 th Avenue and 9 th Line shortly after 12 p.m. Friday.

MISSISSAUGA — Ontario's police watchdog says it is no longer investigating the self-inflicted death of an 18-year-old man in Mississauga last year after determining there was no way officers could have intervened.
