Sudbury hosts major Francophone youth volleyball event

École St-Étienne (Dowling) won the boys’ competitive division at the Franco-du-Nord Volleyball Tournament in Sudbury Nov. 25-27.

More than 460 athletes from 19 Francophone schools across Northern Ontario took part in the Franco-du-Nord Volleyball Tournament in Sudbury Nov. 25-27.

Over the three days of competition, 45 participating teams put their athletic skills to the test, built friendships and celebrated their Francophone pride in a competitive environment.

‘’We are proud to have brought together passionate young volleyball players and their coaches to celebrate the sport, teamwork and Francophone pride,” said Tom Michaud, director of education at CSC Nouvelon.

“The event was filled with exciting matches, incredible team spirit, and an energy that truly showcased the passion of these young athletes.

“A big thank you to the CSC Nouvelon organizing committee and our partners for their dedication to supporting Franco-Ontarian youth. Congratulations to all the teams for their outstanding participation!’’
