Cocaine and oxycodone plus a loaded handgun were seized after police searched two locations in Sudbury Nov. 11, resulting in the arrests of three people.
The investigation was a joint effort by the OPP and the Greater Sudbury Police Services. Search warrants were executed on Highway 69 and on Bancroft Drive on Tuesday.
Officers seized suspected cocaine, oxycodone pills, a handgun with a loaded magazine and one round chamber, six cellular telephones, a knife and $150 in Canadian currency. Police say the items seized have a value of $30,380.
Three people, two of them from Southern Ontario and the other from Sudbury, were arrested and charged.
A 27-year-old Scarborough man was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The above accused was held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury.
A 24-year-old Sudbury woman was was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
The above accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sudbury court on Dec. 10.
A 24-year-old Unionville man was charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
- Possession of a schedule I substance - oxycodone
The above accused was held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury.
