Updated Dec. 16 at 4:30 p.m.: Greater Sudbury Police have advised that the suspect in a convenience store robbery on Elm Street today was taken into custody a short time ago.
Just before noon, GSPS said on X.com that officers were on the scene of a convenience store robbery in the vicinity of Elm and Beatty streets. One person from that incident was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said, while the suspect fled on foot.
That suspect was tracked to a residence on Elm Street. Police contained the suspect to the building and after several hours, the person was taken into custody.
During the incident, traffic was rerouted around the area of Elm Street where the incident occurred. Detours have been removed or will be removed shortly.
