Health Sciences North has a new vice-president, with longtime staff member Dr. Daniel Molke announced to the position in a media release issued this week.
Molke brings more than 20 years of experience in the province’s health-care system, according to the media release, including 14 years at Health Sciences North.
His experience includes clinical practice, research and education, and progressive health system leadership. His most recent role was as administrative director within the Mental Health and Addictions Program, where he’s credited with leading "complex inpatient, outpatient, and regional programs and supporting teams delivering care to some of our most vulnerable patients,” according to the media release.
“Daniel is known for leading with integrity, humility, and compassion, and for fostering high-performing teams grounded in respect, transparency, and shared accountability,” HSN president and CEO David McNeil said in a media release.
“These qualities, combined with his depth of experience and system perspective, position him well to advance HSN’s strategic priorities and support excellence in care for our patients, families, and communities.”
Molke’s vice-president role encompasses Mental Health and Addictions, NEO Kids, Women’s Health and Social Accountability.
In the media release, he’s credited with demonstrating “a strong commitment to equitable, patient-centred care, with a focus on adult, child and youth mental health and in supporting individuals facing social and systemic barriers.”
He also “brings a strong evidence-informed approach to care delivery,” the media release notes, with his doctoral training and research experience supporting “the thoughtful integration of clinical innovation, quality improvement, and system planning capabilities that will be valuable as he assumes responsibility for this broad and interrelated portfolio.”
Molke takes over from Natalie Aubin, who left HSN last year to become the inaugural CEO of Ontario's new French Language Health Planning Centre (FLHPC) in Ottawa. Molke’s first day in his new role is scheduled to be Jan. 19.
