The Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord brought together more than 150 students recently for its Regional Chess Tournament, held at École publique Pavillon-de-l’Avenir in Chelmsford.
The Dec. 10 tournament welcomed Grade 4 students from schools across the Greater Sudbury area, as well as Markstay and French River.
This system-wide activity, organized by the Cultural Animation team, gave students the opportunity to put into practice the skills they developed in class this fall.
Each Grade 4 class in the Greater Sudbury region had the chance to learn strategies and the essential basics of chess through workshops.
“Congratulations to all those who took part in this enriching system-wide activity!” said a press release from the board.
