Are Greater Sudburians as giving as residents of North Bay?

A Highway 17 Food Drive Challenge will help make this determination, with Sudbury Wolves fans urged to bring non-parishible items to the arena on Jan. 2 and North Bay Battalion fans asked to bring non-perishable items to their arena on Jan. 4.

The city that collects the most food by weight wins the challenge, with all donations going to the community’s respective food bank.

The back-to-back games will see the two rival teams pair off against each other alongside their respective communities via the food drive.

“It’s time to show what Sudbury is made of,” Sudbury Food Bank executive director Dan Xilon said in a media release. “Every can, every box, every donation helps. North Bay thinks they can out-donate us on Jan. 4 …Ha!”

The Sudbury Wolves’ Jan. 2 game against North Bay Battalion is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. For ticket information, click here.
