The Windsor Express were the Sudbury’s kryptonite Jan. 10 for Super Heroes’ Night at the Sudbury Community Arena, with the Five losing their first game of the young season by a score of 120-107 to go along with their two wins so far this season.

The Five got off to a high flying start in the first quarter, winning the quarter by a margin of 30-24, with Charlie Marquardt leading the way for the Five with nine points in the quarter.

The Express came back in the second to take the quarter by a slim 30-29 margin, but still found themselves trailing by a score of 59-54 heading into the dressing room for halftime.

But they made the adjustments they needed during the break, and outscored Sudbury 37-25 to grab their first lead of the game, including a team-leading 11 points for Windsor’s Latin Davis, helping lift his team to a 91-84 advantage with one quarter remaining in the game.

The Five had a better fourth quarter, falling 29-23, with Charlie Marquardt once again leading the Five with nine points, but Sudbury fell short by a score of 120-107.

The Sudbury Five head out on the highway for a three-game road trip, their first of the season, starting in Lake Erie, Pennsylvania, with a game against the Lake Erie Jackals on Wednesday, Jan. 14, with tip off scheduled for 11 a.m.
