The City of Greater Sudbury is hosting two virtual public open houses to review changes to the Official Plan and Zoning By-law in support of the Employment Land Strategy.
Hosted by the Planning Services department, the open houses will be held Dec. 15 from 10-11:30 a.m. and again from 2-3:30 p.m.
The event will give residents a chance to learn about the proposed changes and take part in a question-and-answer session.
Details on the project and links to both open houses are available on Over To You.
In August 2022, Council approved the Employment Land Strategy to foster economic growth and support a diversified economy for Greater Sudbury’s future,” the city said in a news release. “Employment land refers to areas that are designated for economic activity, rather than residential use. The strategy will ensure that the City is well positioned to respond to employment land needs by considering future trends, projected demand, land supply, municipal services, incentives and other tools to support future growth and economic changes.”
As well, a public hearing on the strategy is being held Feb. 9, 2026 at the Lionel E. Lalonde Centre in Azilda. The hearing starts at 1 p.m. that day.
“Feedback can be formally presented at this hearing either in person or virtually or submitted in writing. Details on how to participate in the planning process are available here.”
