The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is investigating after an “armed individual” died following an early-morning interaction with Greater Sudbury Police in the Flour Mill area.
Police say that at 5:24 a.m. Dec. 5, officers responded to a report of a break and enter in-progress at an address on Clinton Avenue in the Flour Mill area of Sudbury.
On Friday morning, Clinton Avenue's intersection with Queen Street was blocked off by police tape and vehicles.
They arrived on scene and “engaged an armed individual who died during the interaction.”
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was contacted and has invoked their mandate. The Greater Sudbury Police Service remains on scene.
