$110K in drugs seized at Attawapiskat airport

ATTAWAPISKAT - An airport disturbance led to the seizure of over $110,000 in drugs. 

The afternoon of Nov. 18, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) were called to the Attawapiskat First Nation airport. 

A woman was located and was eventually taken into custody for trespassing, said NAPS in a news release. Police say she was in possession of suspected methamphetamine pills and crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $110,000. 

A 30-year-old woman from Attawapiskat is charged with possession of methamphetamine pills for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused has been released from police custody with conditions, and appears in court at a later date.
