YES Theatre is adding five news shows to the run of its family holiday production of “Annie,” extending the show’s run to Dec. 28.
This comes after a wonderfully successful first few weeks of the run, allowing YES to offer more viewing opportunities to the community, said a press release from the theatre company.
After seeing a huge increase in their subscribership this fall, YES is pleased to offer another record-breaking holiday run.
The original matinees sold out quickly, so YES is adding four new matinee options during the extension week for more family-friendly fun.
Directed by Peter Hinton-Davis, former artistic director of the National Arts Centre, “this locally driven Annie is one of YES Theatre’s most exciting and artistically fulfilled visions yet,” said the press release.
“It’s been a challenging year for many of us,” said artistic director Alessandro Costantini. “The state of the world feels a bit tumultuous and our run of Jesus Christ Superstar, though successful in its own right, didn’t run as long as it could have.
“We are doing our best to provide as many inspiring nights out to Sudbury audiences as possible, and to see this show of support for our holiday season and a (truly) record breaking subscription rate, we are feeling heartened and assured. Sudbury deserves cool things! Happy holidays to all.”
