YES Theatre is accepting auditions for its 2026 Young Company production of “High School Musical.”
The Young Company engages students in the process of creating a major theatrical production, culminating in a series of performances for school audiences and the community.
Participants develop their performance abilities in acting, voice and movement and contribute to the creation of props, sets and costumes.
YES Theatre’s education programs contribute to each student’s emotional, intellectual and social development, said a press release. Participation also helps to develop their self-confidence and problem-solving skills.
The program is open to aspiring performers in Grade 7 and older – entrance into the program is by audition.
Approximately 20 students will be accepted into the program. Successful applicants will be notified by October 31.
An expanded rehearsal schedule will begin November 23 and run through the following three months. Performances for school audiences and the public will be held over the two weeks preceding the March Break.
The participation fee for this intensive program is $675 (taxes included) – students already registered in another YES Theatre program this fall pay only $625.
Auditions will be held at the Sudbury Theatre Centre on Sunday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 26 from 6 to 9:30 pm. Interested applicants must sign up for a pre-assigned audition time. There is no fee required to audition.
The audition package, production schedule and registration forms can be accessed online here.
