Women in Mining Sudbury has announced the recipients of its 2025 Diversity Awards.
This marks the second year for the event, which is designed to recognize women for their exceptional contributions and achievements in the mining industry.
"These women exemplify leadership, innovation and a profound commitment to advancing diversity within the mining sector,” the organization said in announcing the winners.
“From seasoned Trailblazers to rising Student Trailblazers, each winner's impact is significant and inspiring.”
This year's winners include:
- Trailblazer: Natasha Moore
- Indigenous Trailblazer: Irina Khassanova
- Frontline Excellence: Tammy Russell
- Mentorship: Laura Grover
The organization has also selected five women as Student Trailblazers. They will each receive a $2,000 bursary toward their studies in the industry:
- Elizabeth Saraiva
- Georgina Coste-Ramsay
- Kaitlyn Assiniwe
- Navraj Kaur
- Sophie Guerin
Winners will be celebrated during a gala evening Nov. 13 in Sudbury.
Women in Mining Sudbury is a local chapter of Women in Mining Canada, a non-profit organization that focuses on increasing diversity and representation within the minerals exploration and mining sector.
