Sudbury’s newest signature event, Spirit of Sudbury, invites the community to an elegant evening of fine spirits, gourmet food and live jazz at Science North’s Exhibit Hall on Saturday, Nov. 15.

While the evening’s general admission experience begins at 6:30 p.m., whisky lovers can elevate their experience with an exclusive master class beginning at 5 p.m., offering early access to the event and a deep dive into the craft of whisky, with one of Canada’s most knowledgeable on the topic.

Join whisky educator and enthusiast Stuart Brown for a master class.

In “Whisky 101: Malts vs. Blended Malts vs. Blended Scotch,” Brown will guide attendees through the foundational distinctions between these three key whisky categories.

Spirit of Sudbury 2025 is a celebration of craftsmanship, community and northern pride, said a press release.

This inaugural event brings together top distillers from across Ontario in a sophisticated evening of spirits, music and elevated conversation — all set in the heart of Science North’s Exhibit Hall.

Born from a simple question — “Why doesn’t Northern Ontario have a whisky event that matches the elegance and scale of the best in the country?” — the event was founded by three friends passionate about whisky, community and showcasing the north’s spirit.

A portion of proceeds from Spirit of Sudbury 2025 will be donated to the Sudbury Food Bank, supporting local families and individuals in need.

Tickets for the master class are $75 and include exclusive early access to the show floor prior to general admission. Space is limited, and advance registration is highly recommended.
