In loving memory of Byron Henry Wagner (February 11, 1952 - January 14, 2026).
It is with profound sadness that the Wagner family announces the passing of our beloved Byron, peacefully on January 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Byron was a devoted husband, brother, father, and proud grandfather. He was a man whose life was defined by love, hard work, humour, and time spent outdoors. Words alone can never capture the full extent of Byron’s love and dedication for those of us who were blessed to be touched by his incredible life.
Byron is survived by his loving wife Suzan (nee Hasiuk) of 51 years, and his sons, Craig (Kirsten) and Cory (Jaime), both of Val Caron. Byron was a proud and loving Grandpa to his grandchildren Cayden, Carter, John, and Mae, all of whom brought him immense joy.
Byron is predeceased by his treasured parents John and Dolores “Dolly” Wagner, both having instilled in him the values of family, unconditional love, and hard work. Byron is also predeceased by his loving in-laws George and Vera Hasiuk, as well as his two sisters-in-law Mary and Helen, and his cherished brother-in-law Eddie Ceming. Byron is survived by his two loving brothers Allan (Dorothy) of Hanmer, and Bartley of Vancouver.
He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Kenny (Tracy), Shelly, Rhonda (Bruce), Beverly (Nick), Patricia, and Michael (Sandy). He will be lovingly remembered by his many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends whom he considered family.
Family was everything to Byron, as he was often heard saying “If you don’t have family, you have nothing.” Byron was a loving and supportive father who took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. One of his greatest accomplishments was seeing both of his sons follow in his footsteps, building careers with Hydro One, where he himself dedicated 28 years of loyal service as a lineman. He was deeply proud of his sons as he witnessed his strong work ethic and commitment shine through their work.
A true outdoorsman, Byron found one of his greatest joys being in nature. Whether hunting in the early morning hours or fishing on Edna Lake, he was never happier than when he was outside, often sharing those moments with his family and friends. He loved telling stories of times spent camping with Craig, Cory, and their friends, as well as the many good times he spent at camp. These were the times he cherished most.
Byron will be remembered for his kindness, strength, humour, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the values he passed down to all of us. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
