Peacefully and surrounded by the love of his family, Dan Taylor, born May 30, 1952, passed away on Tuesday January 13, 2026, at the age of 73 years. Dan lived a full and joyful life, shaped by deep devotion to those he loved, a generous spirit, and an unwavering kindness that touched everyone he met.
Dan and his wife, Kim, shared a remarkable love story that began when they were 16 years old. They were married for 52 years and built a lifetime of memories together. His greatest pride was Kim (Ev) and their family. Dan was a devoted and much respected father and friend to Darryl (Natalie) and Allison (Steven) and beloved and very admired Papa to his four very loved grandchildren- Drake, Paige, Tyson and Lennox-who were the greatest joy of his life.
Dan was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Helen Taylor, his brother Robert and his in-laws Harold and Kay Strutt. He leaves behind his sister Linda (Rick), many cherished cousins, special nieces and nephews, all of whom he held close to his heart. To all of them, he will always be remembered as “Funny Danny,” whose quick humour and contagious laugh brightened every gathering. He had a special gift for making people feel welcome, and the door was always open wherever he was.
Always a hardworking and dedicated man, Dan began his career as a very young milkman in Copper Cliff and grew into a highly successful salesperson. His joyful, enthusiastic personality made him unforgettable-everyone knew “Danny Taylor”.
Dan had many passions, but his happiest place was his camp at Trout Lake, where he and Kim spent a lifetime building memories. Special times were spent boating with family and friends and gardening with his grandchildren. He was also an exceptional golfer who embraced the sport with skill and enthusiasm. In retirement, Dan and Kim enjoyed wonderful years in Florida, especially with sister-in-law Debra (Rob), where they formed lasting friendships and where Dan delighted in hosting gatherings-especially when he could serve his famous Caesars.
Dan’s greatest love, above all else, was always his wife and his family. His kindness, humour, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank Dr.Kosalka and her staff, Dr.Jani and staff at the Cancer Centre, and the supportive nurses from the Hospice and Bayshore for all the wonderful care.
As per Dan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity close to your heart.
There is peace in letting go. In saying “it is what it is” and truly mean it. You don’t have to keep fighting what’s already out of your hands. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is surrender, not out of defeat but out of trust. What’s meant for you will always find its way, often in ways you never expected.
