If laughter is the best cocktail, then Sudbury Performance Group is serving it up by the pitcher.

This October, audiences are invited to pull up a chair, grab a fork, and raise a glass as The Savannah Sipping Society takes over Thorneloe University for three nights of outrageous comedy, Southern charm, and culinary delight.

Running Oct. 23–25  at the Ernie Checkeris Theatre (Thorneloe University), this dinner theatre production blends hearty laughs with hearty portions — making it the perfect night out for friends, couples, and anyone in need of a good giggle.

Before the laughs begin, guests will be treated to a full Southern-style meal provided by Helvi’s Catering. Purchase tickets online here.

In this laugh-a-minute comedy by Jones Hope Wooten, four wildly different Southern women are thrown together by fate — or rather, by an accidental happy hour.

What starts as small talk over cocktails quickly turns into a full-blown sisterhood of chaos, confessions, and questionable life coaching.

These sassy ladies include:

Randa — played by Tanya Saari

With impeccable timing and razor-sharp delivery, Tanya perfectly captures Randa’s tightly wound perfectionism. Watching her unravel from corporate control-freak to cocktail-sipping free spirit is a masterclass in controlled chaos and comedic restraint.

Dot — played by Christina Carmichael

Christina delivers a beautifully grounded performance filled with warmth and quiet wit. Her emotional sincerity balances the madness around her, making every moment with Dot feel heartfelt — even when she accidentally lands a joke without meaning to.

Marlafaye — played by Angel Mannisto

Angel storms the stage like a Texan hurricane with sass to spare. Brimming with attitude, vengeance, and wildly quotable one-liners, her Marlafaye is a force of nature audiences will cheer for — especially when she starts plotting payback.

Jinx — played by Tara St. Pierre

Tara radiates unstoppable optimism as Jinx, the self-appointed life coach who can fix everyone’s problems but her own. Her relentless enthusiasm — even when wildly misdirected — creates some of the show’s biggest “did she just say that!?” moments.

Cordelia Covington — played by Lindsay Dainton

Making a memorable appearance, Lindsay Dainton commands the stage as Cordelia, the delightfully cranky grandmother with opinions sharper than a carving knife. She like sweet tea — bitter but expected — especially toward her granddaughter, while treating her grandson like the second coming. Lindsay’s no-nonsense attitude brings a whole new flavour of comedy to the mix. Over six months of outrageous antics, spilled secrets, and one too many cocktails, these women prove that it’s never too late to start fresh — or start trouble.
