It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Robert Shelsted on January 13, 2026, at Health Sciences North at the age of 84.
Very beloved husband of Lillian Shelsted and an amazing father to David (Mandi) and grandfather to Maxwell and Holly. He is also missed by his sister Shirley Brinkmeier, niece Brenda Laurin, and many more nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Elmer and Yvonne Shelsted, and his sister Lucille Thériault.
Ray spent his working career as an electrician and a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1687, completing industrial projects throughout Ontario. In retirement he and Lill became snowbirds enjoying the warmth of Galveston Texas each winter. He enjoyed and was excellent at wood working. His other hobbies included golfing and brewing his own beer, choosing the name "brewmasterray" for his personal email. He was an avid Blue Jays fan, with their recent run to the World Series must watch TV for him and Lill.
Gramps, we love you to the moon and back.

As per Ray's wishes, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation.
