OSHAWA — Police say they've arrested and charged a second suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 44-year-old man in Oshawa, Ont.

Durham regional police say officers were called to the area of Park Road South and John Street in the early hours of Dec. 23 and found the man, who later died in hospital.

Investigators arrested a 33-year-old man that day and charged him with second-degree murder, but said they were still seeking a second suspect.

Police now say that suspect, a 44-year-old man, was taken into custody in Peterborough, Ont., on Boxing Day in connection with a separate homicide.

They say the Durham force took custody of the suspect on Monday and charged him with second-degree murder in the Oshawa case.

He's being held for a bail hearing.
