In loving memory of Rose Riopel (nee Ridler) who passed away on Monday, January 5th, 2026 at Health Sciences North at the age of 88.
Beloved wife of two husbands, Robert Whissell and Ben Riopel both predeceased. Loving mother of Marlene Whissell predeceased, Richard Whissell (Darlene predeceased), Sandra Kangas (Henry), Carol Whissell predeceased and Bobby Whissell. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Jason (Sarah), Melanie, Chelsea, Nicolas, James (Jeannine), Ashley, Jessica-Lea and Kary-Lynn (Jake) and great grandmother of Levi, Olivia, Rosie, Lorenzo, Wes, Alysha, Jade, Pheonix, Charlie-Jo, and Gavin. Dear sister to Stella & Jean Pepin, Mary and Iverson Heins, and Anne and Aurel Brabant. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Rose found joy in tending her garden, relaxing with her favourite shows, and sharing time with her best friend, Q‑Tip, and the family she cherished.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lougheed Funeral Home (Hanmer/Capreol Chapel), 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer where friends may gather from 1:30-5pm on Saturday, January 17th, 2026.
