It is with profound sadness that the family of Eric Richard announces his passing on January 6, taken far too soon.
Eric was a devoted husband to Jennifer (nee Stewart) and a loving father to Jack. He brought joy, laughter, and quiet strength to all who knew him. Predeceased by his loving mother Gloria. Eric will be missed and forever remembered as Little Eric by his siblings Jackie (Dave), Valerie (Ian), and Kevin (Ronelda). Also dearly missed by his father and stepmother Eric Sr. and Edie, his father and mother-in-law Dick and Teresa, his brother and sister-in-law James (Maryline) and Joanne (Paul), his nieces and nephews, and his friends and co-workers.
Eric had a gentle soul and a warm heart. He found peace in fishing, laughter in Seinfeld, and freedom on the open road. He took great pride in his career as a truck driver. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and steady presence will be remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, on Wednesday January 14th, 2026, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with words of remembrance at 6:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Ontario Provincial Police and the Greater Sudbury Police Service for their compassion and professionalism during this difficult time.
