My dearest friend Susan Sabourin Fitzulak passed away a year ago, in July 2024. I miss Sue every day. We shared a love for family, Christmas, nature and humanity. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to three amazing daughters. She had seven grand children, two of whom she happily raised from childhood despite her agonizing grief. She overflowed with joy at the birth of her first great grandchild. Cooking, baking and crocheting were her gifts to those she loved. Walking, camping and reading were her gifts to herself. She saved countless lives as an avid proponent of emergency care, teaching many years for the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation and EMP Canada.
I continue to reach for the phone to hear her laugh and share special moments. She’s my best friend and always in my heart.
