A traffic complaint about a swerving truck led Espanola Ontario Provincial Police officers to a seizure of suspected cocaine at the end of last month.
On Sept. 28 at 4:30 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint about a truck swerving in its lane on Highway 17 in McKerrow.
“Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop,” a news release states. “As a result of further investigation, police found the driver to be a suspended driver, and an arrest was made.”
The traffic stop also led officers to seize an amount of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,250.
The driver, 41-year-old man from Sudbury, is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Driving while under suspension
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on Nov. 17.
