POIRIER, Ronald “Peewee”
1953-2026
Ronald Gilles Poirier (Dubois) aka Peewee of Dowling, Ontario passed away on January 9, 2026 at the early age of 72 years. Son of the late Gerard Dubois and late Cécile Poirier. Cherished brother of Jacky Asselin (late Jean-Guy Sr.), Roger Poirier (Kim), Normand Poirier (Gilbette) and Rita Matusiak (Steve). Peewee was predeceased by other siblings: Armand “Tarz”, Reg, Rheal (late Marie-Claire), Robert, Jeannine, infant Paul and infant Claudette. He was a good friend, a great brother, uncle and godfather. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by special “Honey” Laurette, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Peewee loved nature both hunting and fishing. He took great pride in the accuracy of his shooting. He was not afraid of work, and he always pulled above his weight. Before retiring, Peewee’s resume would show construction, diamond drilling, and farm labor. He enjoyed the farm labor at his friend Rick Smith’s horse farm, Foothill Farms. One of Peewee’s favourite outings was his annual bass derby with his sister Rita at Stobie Dam, which Rita usually won.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St-Stephen the Martyr, Dowling, Ontario. Please join us for a luncheon at 1:00 p.m. at the Lion’s Club, located at 3964 R.R. 15, Chelmsford, on the corner of Montée Principale and R.R. 15.
