Students and researchers will present the latest findings in occupational health and safety during CROSHCon 2026 this January.

Hosted by the Centre for Research in Occupational Safety and Health (CROSH) at Laurentian University, the annual event is held virtually and free to attend.

This year’s theme is ‘From Air to Ground: Protecting Every Worker.’

Dr. Chun-Yip Hon, a certified industrial hygienist and Canadian registered safety professional, will give the Mr. Leo Gerard Legacy Fund Keynote Address.

Hon, an associate professor in Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Occupational and Public Health, will give an overview of the key respiratory hazards in mining from an occupational hygiene perspective.

Nine presentations will be given in total, with topics including respiratory hazards, support for worker health and wellness, and workplace physical exposures.

Registration for the event is now open.

Based at Laurentian University in Sudbury, CROSH is the only occupational health and safety research centre dedicated to Northern Ontario, with a focus on engaging workers and workplaces to understand and identify solutions to their unique health and safety challenges.
