The No Strings Attached Community Band and the Northern Brass Choir have teamed up for a Nov. 16 show at Lockerby Composite School entitled “Hard Times Call for Music”.

“March with us and celebrate a variety of unashamedly merry and masterfully subtle music arranged for  Concert Band and Brass Choir from traditional military marches by Sousa and Prokofiev to the flourish of Vaughan Williams and the heartwarming music of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood,” the groups said in a news release. “The Northern Brass Choir will soothe your soul with the music of Bach, Barber, Joplin and Coultrane and then join the band for an epic rendition of John Williams’ ‘Superman’s March’ you will not want to miss.”

The show will be held in the McKellar Auditorium at Lockerby Composite School, 1391 Ramsey View Court, starting at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 16.

Admission to the show is by pay-what-you-can, with the proceeds being donated to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
