Sudbury music lovers are in for a treat as world-renowned guitarist Don Ross and acclaimed German singer-songwriter Julie Malia bring their international tour to Knox Hall Nov. 28 in a show presented by Northern Lights Festival Boréal.

This special concert showcases the unique partnership between two outstanding solo artists.

Ross, famous for his groundbreaking fingerstyle guitar technique, and Malia, known for her captivating voice and virtuoso guitar playing, have been touring together since 2023.

Their shows combine breathtaking guitar work, soulful songs, and a warm stage presence that leaves audiences inspired.

The evening in Sudbury will feature original music, dynamic duets, and highlights from both artists’ solo careers. It will be a night where rich guitar sounds meet soulful vocals, blending Canadian and European styles into one unforgettable performance.

Ross is a Canadian guitarist celebrated worldwide for his innovative playing style and is the only person to win the U.S. National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship twice. His latest solo album, Water (2023), includes collaborations with Bruce Cockburn, Michael Manring, and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Malia is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter praised for her genre-spanning performances and heartfelt originals. Her recent album Seagull was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Prize in 2024.

The show runs starting at 8 p.m. Nov. 28 at Knox Hall (73 Larch St.). Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Purchase tickets online here.
