Letter: HSN is great for health care, not so much for food

After spending some time at Health Sciences North over the holidays, writer praises the level of care they received, but has nothing kind to say about the meals

After a short stint as a patient at Health Sciences North during the busy Christmas holidays — where the health care was excellent but the patient food is forever bland, meager and tasteless — I have a suggestion.

As a sometimes client of Sudbury Meals on Wheels, which serves tasty homecooked food in the dietary recommended quantities and variety, HSN would be doing every patient a huge favour if they struck a deal with Meals on Wheels to supply their hot, nutritious meals delivered to the HSN patients.

Even if it was only for the main dinner once a day, it would dial up the meal experience and patient satisfaction at HSN by megawatts.

HSN is the best place to be when you are having health problems, but punishing the poor patients with bland, tasteless, dry and meager meals is not necessary. We can do better.
