Letter: Bonnie Crombie rebuilding Ontario Liberal brand

I am proud to express my unwavering support for Bonnie Crombie to continue leading the Ontario Liberal Party.

Under her leadership, our party has made remarkable strides, regaining official party status and securing more than 1.5 million votes — 30 per cent of the popular vote — and achieving the only electoral gains in this election.

While she may not have won her own seat, we made gains in "Ford Nation" such as the Etobicoke-Lakeshore riding. These accomplishments are a testament to her ability to revitalize the party and position us as the strongest alternative to Doug Ford’s government.

Beyond her electoral success, Bonnie Crombie has proven to be a powerhouse in fundraising. In just her first year as leader, she raised more than $6 million dollars, including $1 million during the leadership race alone.

This financial strength is not just impressive, it is essential. It ensures the Ontario Liberal Party has the resources necessary to take on Ford’s well-funded Progressive Conservatives and win the next election.

This election was never just about immediate victory; it was about rebuilding from the devastating collapse of 2018 and the stagnation of 2022. That rebuilding has begun, and Bonnie Crombie has demonstrated that she is the leader to see it through.

She has reignited enthusiasm within the party, engaged communities across Ontario, and put forward a bold vision for a better future.

Now is the time for unity, not division. The Ontario Liberal Party must rally behind Bonnie Crombie as she continues the fight to defeat Doug Ford. With her leadership, we have our best chance to form a government that truly serves the people of Ontario.
