Andrea and Douglas Miller celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in June. Douglas wrote this letter as a tribute to his wife.

I'm now the same age as my father was when I got married. Trippy.

Some get a nicely tailored green jacket when they win the Masters. Others have a fine collection of gold medals gathering dust. And a few lucky ones get to hoist the Stanley Cup above their exhausted smile.

As worthy as those awards assuredly are, none compare to my win. I'll take my smells good and feels good trophy any day.

It's not a joke that my private nickname for her is Pegasus. I'm well aware of the quality of the thoroughbred that powers my chariot.

What did she get out of marrying me? Well, you'd have to ask her. I'm sure her answer would be a combination of an anthropological lecture tour and a very saucy comedy special.

But when she took my hand and stepped aboard my pirate ship, she knew she was in for an adventure and in that, I have absolutely delivered.

It was complete and utter chance that we met and I marvel at that always.

I love you Andrea.
