What better way is there to understand the unique concerns and issues faced by people who live in Sudbury than to live and work here yourself?
Switch Insurance was established in August 2020 by broker owners Carson Pileggi and Cameron McIntyre, both lifelong Sudbury residents with deep roots in the community.
Their goal was to provide a local insurance brokerage for Sudburians so they wouldn’t have to rely on the large call centres that are often located thousands of kilometres away. Because their team is local to the Sudbury area, they know all about the insurance needs of the Greater Sudbury community—including knowing how the roads get in Sudbury winters to what you need to consider when insuring boats, snowmachines, ATVs, and motorcycles.
Clearly they were onto something, as the company has experienced great growth in just five years. “With the tremendous, loyal support of the Sudbury community, we have grown from a team of 2 to a team of 12 who are devoted to serving our community and providing the best local insurance service possible,” says Carson.
So far, the pair haven’t planned a celebration for hitting the 5-year mark. “There hasn’t been a celebration yet, other than self-reflecting on the accomplishment and celebrating the fact that we get to work in our community with local people every day,” says Cameron.
The team’s strengths include:
- Local customer service
- Professionalism
- Transparency
- Friendliness
“We are not a call centre; we care about the people we help,” says Carson. He and his team are accustomed to receiving positive feedback. “They love dealing with us because we are local and easy to do business with.”
He credits much of their success to the fact that he and the team actually live here in Sudbury. “We understand the Sudbury landscape and the daily living here,” adds Cameron. “We go to the same grocery store as our clients do.”
Rates are forever changing due to economic and environmental factors. Staying on top of this for clients ensures the team can provide them with the best rates and coverage. They have access to the carriers and markets that ensure every policy buyer can find the best product for their unique needs.
Switch Sudbury also offers discounts for United Steelworkers members and the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union in Northern Ontario.
The Switch Insurance team is looking forward to the year ahead and more opportunities to help fellow residents and support local businesses.
“Sudbury is very loyal,” says both Cameron & Carson. “We want to thank the community for their continuous support.”
