Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin (ILSM) is a community-based, member-led non-profit organization that empowers people with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities. Guided by the Independent Living Philosophy, we believe that people with disabilities are the experts in their own lives and have the right to make their own choices, take control, and define their own success.
ILSM offers programs, peer support, and opportunities that promote inclusion, accessibility, and personal growth. We proudly administer the Direct Funding Program, which allows individuals with disabilities to manage their own attendant services and live with greater independence.
As a community organization, we also host events and fundraisers throughout the year to support our programs and bring people together in celebration of inclusion and empowerment. Led by our active membership, board of directors, and dedicated staff, ILSM works collaboratively with the community to remove barriers and create a more inclusive Sudbury and Manitoulin region.
