“We never think what we’ll miss about them before a person is gone. It is only after, in the hollow of their absence, that we realize it is the simple things we crave, like the sound of a voice, the warmth of a touch, a smile of happiness, and most of all, simply their presence.” J.K.

And here is the heart of our problem: how to live in that hollow, one of the hardest places to exist. We’ve had two years without you, and still, we navigate a reality that is no longer new, and definitely not normal. And yet, we carry on. We continue, as we’ve done since you left, to fill that hollow with cherished memories – ones that bring us that sound of your voice, that smile we so love, that giant presence we will never forget. You are gone but never truly absent. And you are missed beyond measure.

Love Helen, Tammy (Tony), Troy (Nicole), and your grandkids and great-grandkids.
