Gun replicas, drugs found during OPP traffic stop

Two replica handguns were located along with cocaine and fentanyl after provincial police conducted a traffic stop in West Nipissing Oct. 29.

At around 8:10 p.m. that evening, officers with the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop on Church Street in West Nipissing.

A search of the vehicle turned up the gun replicas and drugs.

A 42-year-old man from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with,

  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- two counts

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Dec. 4 in North Bay.
