Stakeholders from across the North will gather in Sudbury this December for the 2025 Magnetic North conference.
Hosted by Northern Policy Institute and Réseau du Nord, the three-day, in-person event will draw leaders and community members together to speak about challenges facing the North and solutions to foster prosperity, with a focus on population growth and immigration. The last event was held virtually in 2023.
“Communities across the North continue to navigate shifting demographics, workforce shortages, and evolving needs. The urgency to attract, welcome, and retain people has never been greater,” NPI said in a statement announcing the event.
“Magnetic North 2025 is the opportunity to regroup, refocus, and shape the strategies that will guide our communities forward.
This year’s event will take place Dec. 3-5 at Science North in Sudbury.
Over three days, attendees are expected to share best practices, hear from keynote speakers, attend plenary sessions, and participate in roundtables and panel discussions.
Registration for the event is open until Nov. 17.
Northern Policy Institute is an independent think tank that aims to enhance Northern Ontario's capacity to take the lead position on socioeconomic policy that impacts local communities, the province, the country, and the world.
