GRINGEL, Annette (Robitaille) - In loving memory of Annette Gringel, 99 years old, who passed away peacefully at Laurel Place Hospice, Surrey, BC, on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Annette was the beloved wife of the late Walter Gringel and dear mother of Louise Gringel-Caswell (husband Craig) and predeceased by her son Brian Gringel. She was a loving grandmother of Desiree Caswell of Seattle, WA and admired aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews whom she adored dearly. Also survived by her siblings, Alice Larocque of Hanmer, Suzanne Shank, Yvonne Arcand, Gisele Brouillette, Pierre Robitaille and Jacques Robitaille all of Sturgeon Falls, Cecile Fitzgerald of Toronto, Claude Robitaille of Sudbury. Predeceased by her sisters Pauline, Fernande and Therese and by her brothers Aime, Aurele, Roger and Jean Raymond.

Annette was born in Field, Ontario on July 28, 1926. She was the second eldest child to Aurthur Robitaille and Ida Filion. She worked hard throughout her youth helping provide and care for her family. She bravely left home at a young age to work in the service industry in Toronto and Sudbury.

After getting a job at Michard Pharmacy, she married Walter Gringel in 1959, a barber and entrepreneur. They established themselves in Azilda, where Annette raised her family and also worked for many years at the Azilda Arena as the canteen supervisor. Following Walter’s death in 2008, Annette moved to Sturgeon Fall, and then in October, 2023 moved to Surrey, BC. It was her dream to live the remainder of her life near her daughter.

Annette loved to cook, knit, paint, camp and really enjoyed fishing. She had a life long passion for helping others in any way that she could and she especially loved doing things for her family.

Annette’s funeral mass will be held on July 18, 2026 at noon at Paroisse Sacre Coeur in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. All who loved Annette are welcome to join.
