Copper Cliff residents alerted to planned outage overnight Oct. 11

Greater Sudbury Hydro says power will be out from 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Greater Sudbury Hydro is informing  all residents and businesses in Copper Cliff of a scheduled power interruption on Friday, Oct. 11, from 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

The outage will affect 1,245 customers in the area. 

“This outage is necessary to perform essential maintenance activities on the energy system,” said a press release. “We understand this may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain and improve the reliability of our services.”

What you need to know before and during the outage:

  • Ensure that all computerized and electronic equipment is powered down before the interruption.
  • Keep your cell phone charged, as most cordless phones won’t operate without electricity.
  • Garage door openers may not work during the outage. Learn how to open the door manually if needed.
  • Landlords are encouraged to notify tenants of this planned interruption.

Affected customers who have provided their contact information will receive an automated message by phone or email prior to the outage.
