Charitable Gaming shone a light on many deserving volunteers who are part of the Charitable Gaming Association of Valley East, during a Volunteer Appreciation Night at Delta Bingo & Gaming Val Caron on November 25.

“Charitable Gaming is a unique fundraising model that allows local non-profit and community organizations to generate revenue while providing entertainment to the public through bingo,” explained a spokesperson.

“Funds raised through Charitable Gaming are reinvested directly into the community, supporting programs and services such as youth initiatives, health and wellness supports, and social programs. This impact would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of volunteers…and that’s why we want to honour them!” the spokesperson added.

Charitable organizations that participate in Charitable Gaming were invited to purchase tickets for their volunteers as a thank-you for their dedication and hard work. Volunteers enjoyed a relaxed and welcoming evening that included a lively night of bingo, prize draws, entertainment, cupcakes, and the opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers outside of their regular volunteer shifts at bingo.

With more than 170 people in attendance, the evening was filled with laughter, celebration, entertainment, and plenty of bingo thrills. A highlight of the night was 10 draws for $200 donations, awarded to 10 lucky local charities.

The spokesperson commented, “Throughout the bingo session, a slideshow highlighted many of the incredible volunteers, and one charity took the time to recognize a volunteer with a special award. The event was designed to celebrate and acknowledge the vital role bingo volunteers play and to thank them sincerely for the time and effort they contribute to supporting our community!”

Volunteer Appreciation Nights served as a reminder that Charitable Gaming is about more than fundraising. It is about people, volunteers, coming together to support local causes and strengthen the community. To anyone considering volunteering, know that your efforts are appreciated and that you are part of an organization that directly supports local programs and services.

The spokesperson completed, “The Charitable Gaming Associations of Sudbury and Valley East extend their sincere thanks to all volunteers for their continued dedication and look forward to another successful year of Charitable Gaming in our region!”
