It’s with great sadness to announce the passing of Douglas “Doug” Wayne Stephens at the age of 80 on December 18th, 2025. He was surrounded with love from family near and far.

At a young age, Doug was scooped up by “Mother Bell” where he dedicated his whole career. His engineering background gave him opportunities to work in many facets of the organization and his work ethics and charisma made promotions inevitable. Once he retired, he filled his life with another 15 years managing the Cambrian Ford fleet sales department.

Doug met Michelle over 30 years ago when their bar stools collided at Cactus Pete’s. Slipping her business card to this lovely man was the best move Michelle ever made.

From that point on, their lives were filled with each others kids, building lasting memories that none of them will ever forget. Later in life, Doug got involved with a group called “Magical Paws”. He was lucky enough to involve two of his dogs, Maggie and Bruno to visit folks in long term care homes, hospitals, the hospice, senior homes and even schools. He also enjoyed volunteering with Red Cross as a driver - many of the stories he brought home involved ladies asking if he was single!!

Doug’s life touched many people through work, family, friends, community and through volunteering. He was a selfless and unassuming man that had a beautiful curiosity for people, young and old. He always had time for a chat whether you were an old friend or a stranger. He would greet you with a big smile and a genuine warmth that could stop you in your tracks and would keep you engaged for as long as his dog Bruno could stand still.

He will be truly missed by his wife Michelle Quirion; his children Shannon Steele (Mike), Chris Morrow (Janny), Meredith Morrow (Davy), Chris Miron (Wendy). He was a loving and proud grandpa to his grandchildren: Bryanna, Kailyn (Ashley), Courtney (Brandon), Matthew, Charlie and Chloe and he was overjoyed with his great grandchildren: Elijah and Patrick.

The family would like to thank, from the bottom of their hearts, the wonderful people at Maison McCulloch Hospice. This unassuming yet integral part of this beautiful city is where angels care for end-of-life patients. The wonderful staff allowed Doug and his family to be enveloped by their hands and their hearts as well as with love and compassion until the end of his beautiful life.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Doug’s Life on February 7th, 2026 from 1pm - 4pm at Bryston’s on the Park in Copper Cliff where all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Maison McCulloch Hospice, Humane Society or a charity of your choice in his memory.
