The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced a country-wide recall of No Name Brand Beef Burgers due to a risk of contamination with E. coli.

The affected product is the 1.36-kilogram package with a best-before date of 2026 MA 05.

The UPC code is 0 60383 37333 7.

In a news release, the CFIA said the recall was triggered by test results, but there have been no reported illnesses associated with consuming the burgers to date.

The agency said it is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

In the meantime, it is verifying that industry is removing the recalled product from the marketplace.

The CFIA advises consumers to check to see if they have the product in the house, and throw it out or return it to the store where it was purchased.

Food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick.

Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps, and watery to bloody diarrhea.

In severe cases, contamination can lead to seizures or strokes, kidney damage, or even death.
