The Art Gallery of Sudbury invites you to the opening of the exhibition Watershed Lessons, featuring works by students from Laurentian University’s McEwen School of Architecture.

This exhibit is initiated and curated by the design research practice a.field (Kai Wood Mah and Patrick Lynn Rivers).

The opening takes place on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Wood Mah and student artists from the McEwen School of Architecture will be on site to activate the exhibition in the Gallery at 174 Elgin St. Refreshments will be available in the Gallery’s project space at 170 Elgin St.

Watershed Lessons explores the importance of Sudbury’s watersheds and water systems, our connections to them, and the lessons we can learn from them.

This multifaceted relationship is presented through drawings, a co-created sculpture and selected projects created by students from the McEwen School of Architecture, and provides a snapshot of how a.field conducts their research practice – through research, consultations, publications, and exhibitions.

The exhibition also encourages visitors to reflect on their own connections to Sudbury’s watersheds through Watershed Stories, a community map in the gallery space that invites visitors to share stories and memories related to local waterways.

This exhibition continues until Saturday, Nov. 22.

Admission is free with donation. The Art Gallery of Sudbury is temporarily located at 174 Elgin St. and the gallery gift shop and boutique is located next door at 172 Elgin St. The hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
