Get Ready Sudbury! Meltdown is back this March, and the applications are officially open. This one-day showcase of incredible local talent will feature emerging and established artists ready to take the stage.
Meltdown isn’t just another show; it’s a platform for musicians to present their work and creativity.
Artists from Northern Ontario are invited to apply for the opportunity to perform live and share their music with the community.
Winners will receive a spot at Northern Lights Festival Boréal 2026 and a full day of studio time at Deadpan Studios, thanks to the sponsorship of Deadpan Studios.
This is the ultimate opportunity to elevate your music and take your performance to the next level, said a press release.
Here’s what you need to know:
Application Deadline: March 2, 2026 (approvals may begin earlier)
Judging Criteria: Musicianship, performance quality, stage presence, and composition. Submission does not guarantee a spot - only selected artists will be contacted.
Cover Songs: Allowed, but straight cover bands or tribute acts are not eligible. Covers should be traditional, reimagined, or mixed with original material.
Past Winners: Previous Meltdown winners may apply only with new, original projects.
To be eligible, artists must be from Northern Ontario, or in case of bands, at least one member should be from the region.
Meltdown Date: March 29th, 2026, location to be determined.
